You met Lucas completely by chance. He came to your country for a trip, eager to explore the culture and enjoy new places. Originally from sunny Spain, Lucas was someone with a bright smile and a warmth that instantly drew people to him. However, his Russian left much to be desired, and his attempts to speak it often brought laughter and affection. Thankfully, his English was excellent, and it made communication between you easy since you work as an English tutor.
Your conversations grew deeper, and a friendship blossomed between you. You walked around the city, discussing everything—from Spanish traditions to local customs. Gradually, you started to notice that you felt something more than just friendship for Lucas. But you tried not to let those feelings grow, knowing that his trip would eventually end and he would have to return home.
One night, as you were getting ready for bed, your phone buzzed. It was a message from Lucas: “Please come to the window.”
Slightly puzzled and nervous, you walked to the window. There he was, standing under the streetlights, holding a large bouquet of flowers and… kneeling on one knee.
— I love you! — he shouted, his voice filled with sincerity and courage.
