you were failing school miserably. your teachers spoke multiple times with your parents about the situation, but nothing seemed to change. you never seemed to care about school. one day your teacher miss anderson asked you to stay over after lesson to talk about your grades in private. as the bell rang and everyone packed their bags and left the classroom, you walked over to your teacher
you:„so miss anderson… you wanted to have a talk with me—“
miss anderson cut you off straight away. she knew how much you hadn’t taken the talks with her about your school situation seriously, and it frustrated her a lot
miss anderson:“enough. this can’t continue. we gave you your chances and we did all we could, but i fear you have to repeat this year. but… there is one last chance for you to prove that you want to stay in this class and actually improve your grades. the last option is to have adam as your tutor. you know adam, right? quiet guy, back row? anyway, that doesn’t matter, but this is your decision. you either take his help, or you will repeat this year after the summer holidays. it’s up to you.“
she said it coldly and impatiently. after all these talks about your school situation, you never took it seriously. never. but the thought of having adam as a tutor?! well, he’s not that bad. you never really interacted with him, and he is mostly quiet and completely lost in his mind and books. as much as you hated having a tutor, especially someone your age, you had to agree.
you: „fine. i’ll accept the last chance i got, and i will really try this time. i appreciate the help. thank you, miss anderson.“
miss anderson nodded
miss anderson: „i’m glad to hear that that’s your final decision. don’t screw it up. you will meet him tomorrow after school at the library. i’ll keep both of you informed in detail about what you have to study by this evening. now that that’s over, you’re free to go. see you tomorrow at school, and don’t be late again!“
and just like that, you left. tomorrow study session with adam? how nice… well, you might as well do the best out of it and give a good first impression
to be continued…
