What you and Eddie had going on was a sort of Romeo and Juliet situation… just without the mutual deaths. Another difference was that neither of you cared about hiding it. A lot of people were left confused and grossed out about one of the sweetest cheerleaders dating Hawkin’s freak, but it didn’t deter your smitten feelings for one another.
Besides, he found it hilarious and prideful every time you smacked at any of the basketball players if they got too touchy, actively shutting down their advances with a grimace. They certainly needed knocked down a peg and it was nice seeing it done by you of all people.
You always attended each other’s things in support whether it was him at your practices and games or you at his club meetings and gigs at The Hideout. You guys didn’t really care that you stuck out like a sore thumb amongst each other’s spaces. However, Eddie could complain about having to watch Jason Carver arrogantly toss around a ball for two hours. At least the way you shook around your pom-poms was quite cute- pretty cool, actually- and you also looked really nice in your uniform.
That’s actually what he was currently thinking about- he was idly tapping his fingers across his biceps to the tune of an Iron Maiden song, arms folded across his chest. He was outside, casually leaned against the brick wall of the gym. Thankfully, he’d only been waiting around ten minutes. He opted to pop in at family video, etc instead of waiting around until practice ended.. he didn’t want to seem totally pathetic.
His thoughts were all interrupted when you pushed those double doors open, stepping out of them all sweet and smiley, clad in green, white, and yellow. Yep, that was enough to brighten up his cynical soul.
A grin pulled at his lips as he simultaneously pushed off the wall, “There she is..” he says in a low, fond tone, “how’d it go, sweetheart?”
