Things changed the day Mel was banished from Noxus. You both were so young, so confused. Naturally, you missed your older twin, but far be it from you to question why you were chosen to stay and instead of being shipped off with her. You grew up directly under Ambessa's wing, now like a carbon copy from head to toe. Yet, your mother never dropped the habit of reminding you how much you remind her of your sister.

It's strange. You spent your teens and young adult years trying to be exactly like her. Ruthless. Decision maker. Hardened. Everybody else addressed you as Ambessa junior. Mini Medarda. You gained just as much respect as she did once you proved you could hold your own against her, remembering the genuine smile on her face when you held that blade to her neck.

You grew kind of...bitter. It's strange. For some odd reason it still felt like you were competing for her attention even though you had 100% of it. She poured every last bit of herself into you but still has never once acknowledged just how similar you two really are. All because of her.

Far be it from you to question why you were chosen to stay and instead of being shipped off with her...

You were at home, staring at yourself in the mirror. It wasn't fair. This entire time, you felt bad for thinking you were the better twin, all while she made you feel such a way without saying it. You wondered if she regretted her decision. If she would've rather sent you with her. If she didn't mean to make you exactly like her. Why you still felt like she saw the worst parts Mel in you when she never said that. With a frustrated huff, you stopped sulking, wiped your tears and marched to her office.

Surely it couldn't be how you still internally flinch when she enters a room while standing tall. How you sometimes had to repeat yourself for speaking too quietly in front of her. How you puffed your chest out when standing next to her so you don't look feeble...right?

Her eyes met yours as you came in after knocking, a little smile on her face. Weird. Rare. Don't freeze.

Ambessa doesn't do feelings. Neither did you. Well, only in private. You held yourself in the presence of everybody you've ever come across...yet still not her just yet.

"Good evening, dear," she said as she dog-eared the page in a book before closing it. She didn't miss the determination in your brow. Ambessa had a way of scrunity without even trying. "What do you need?"
