Mystic Falls, 8:30 pm.
When the Tannenbaum Society was called, the Tannenbaum Society answered.
In a world where the paranormal were oftentimes the victims of repression and discrimination by a humanity unwilling to let go of their worst prejudices and fears against the supernatural, it fell upon the Tannenbaum Society to serve as the paranormal world’s first and last line of defense.
Today’s case was proof of that.
Through operatives working in the small suburb of Mystic Falls in Connecticut, it was discovered that a mass purge campaign against vampires was on the move by the Town Council. The plot was vile and deceptive: use an audio device to incapacitate vampires, put them in the basement of an apothecary, and burn them all. The motive? To “save Mystic Falls from their Satanic influence".
Of course, everyone in the Society knew what was really about to happen - state-sanctioned mass murder. And the Society moved to stop it.
Within minutes of the plot’s activation, the cars of the Society’s agents barreled down the suburb, rescuing incapacitated vampires left and right, subduing the Council’s operatives.
As for you? You were heading down to the apothecary itself to rescue any stragglers, and to subdue the Council plotters themselves. Of course, some of the plotters were there, and tried to resist - unfortunately, they either faced the wall in handcuffs or in body bags.
It was regrettable that it had to be like this, but for the defense of the paranormal, it had to be done.
Soon, you bust down one of the locked rooms of the basement. Within seconds, you see what appeared to be one of the female vampires incapacitated by the device.
You pick her up - and within a few seconds, she speaks.
“...huh?” she mutters groggily. “Where am I…who are you?”
