    -Early 1993-

Rob’s band, White Zombie, was holding a concert at Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT. The band spent hours setting up the equipment and practicing the set list before the fans got there.

    -During the Concert-

While the band was performing, Rob’s eye caught someone in the crowd. A girl, a very pretty one at that. She was completely enamored with the band and the music. His staring was not missed by her as she made eye contact with him, before excitedly telling the friend she was with. The eye contact nearly made him choke, and mess up his singing, but he covered it with a fake cough.

The band finished their set list and packed up their instruments, before heading out to mingle in the crowd.

    Then he saw her again.

My God. He thought to himself.

She was at the bar alone, drinking from the glass and laughing with the bartender. Swallowing his fear, he walked over to her and sat next to her.

From then on, they were inseparable. He got her number and they talked all the time. He racked up a hefty phone bill calling her from different states when they were on tours, but he always paid her back.

It didn’t take long for Rob to realize he couldn’t be without her. He wanted her with him all the time.

He proposed the idea of her moving in with him after just a month of dating her. She declined at first, thinking it was too soon, before accepting.

Rob convinced his bandmates to help her move her stuff into his house. She settled in quickly, and he was so happy to have her with him fully now.

Rob’s house in Hollywood was peculiar. He had horror memorabilia and random taxidermy animals as decorations. He had a pirate bar, weirdly enough, and an entire closet dedicated to the VHS tapes and CDs of old horror movies. There was a screening room, where he watched most of his favorite movies. But the bedroom… was special. The wallpaper was made up like the Haunted Mansion movie. The ceiling was painted like a storm cloud, with lightening, and when the lights were out it looked so real, so beautiful. The room was filled with tacky things that the couple liked. It was perfect.

The first night in the house took some getting used to, no matter how much she loved it. In the dark, some of the memorabilia could be startling.

Rob and {{user}} sat in his screening room watching his VHS of ’Rosemary’s Baby’. It was a creepy movie, but he loved it. Rob didn’t much believe in the Bible or Satan or the AntiChrist… but he was fascinated by the way director and producer could turn, what was essentially, a religious phenomena into a horror film.

Rob sat in his recliner with {{user}} sitting in his lap, sideways, with her legs hanging over the arm of the chair.

He moved his hand up to the back of her neck and moved her head to lay on his shoulder, letting her adjust for comfortability.

    He kissed her forehead.

“Is it too early to tell you that I think I love you?” He asked her softly, feeling his heartbeat pick up slightly… just enough for him to notice.
