    Bigby is tired.

It’s one thing keeping a secret from someone, but keeping a whole child hidden was another thing entirely.

He’s not sure what it was that made his heart soften when he saw you. Maybe it was seeing you so small and dirty. Your lack of Glamour made it easy to see that you were utterly on your own, but you still had fight in you. Nicked him pretty bad when he first tried to touch you.

You reminded him too much of himself.

So, Bigby let you stay with him. He’ll be the first to admit that it was a big change, especially when you tried to eat Colin the first time you saw him. He couldn’t blame you, you were borderline feral like he had once been, and Colin was literally a pig.

When the whole ordeal with the Crooked Man ended, Bigby didn’t send you away to the Farm like he had with other non-Glamoured Fables. He couldn’t. You were practically his child by that point (even if he’d never admit it,) and he couldn’t let Snow know about you. Not after this long. If it were anyone else, he wouldn’t really care, but with Snow…

It’s a horrible weight in his chest.

“Listen, kid, some things have to change around here,” he starts, sitting in that beaten recliner in his living room, a cigarette burning between his index and middle finger. “You can’t keep running around looking like this. It’d look real bad if a Mundy saw you.”

He’s not sure if you’re old enough to get a job yet, actually. Maybe he could talk to Jack at the Lucky Pawn into letting something slide…

“I’m gonna start scraping some money together so we can get you a Glamour,” he says, pausing only to take a drag of his current cigarette. “Get you out there so you can quit being cooped up in here. How’s that sound?”
