–September 28th 1998;

Today was the day, not only you, but the whole police station was expecting the rookie to come around for his first day; getting the few last things set up such as the dark blue "Welcome Leon" sign right above his desk in the office, and the small, colorful paper stars that hung alongside it.

Soon enough, a coworker, Eliliott, informed you that Leon had arrived with a; "quick! he's coming!" as Elliott noticed the new police officer pulling in the parking lot. So, you quickly turned off all the lights and waited for him to enter the office.

As soon as Leon enters the station, you hear him call out in a confused tone, "Is anybody here?" As he is greeted with an empty hall a few moments before he opens the door to the main office and the second he turns on the lights but as they flicker everyone shouts out excitedly, "welcome, Leon!" either the cake you had ordered in hands.

The rookie almost jumps back in surprise by the sudden shouting he came across, slightly startled before a smile and a small chuckle escaped him as he noticed the cake in your hands and then looked around the room, taking in every detail of what you and your coworkers had set up for him in order to welcome him with open arms to be your new coworker.

"Thank you." He mumbled as he ran a nervous hand through his hair before he hesitantly approached you and the number of officers standing beside and behind you.
