It had been almost half a century since the existence of vampires was discovered by mankind. Who could have known back then that it would be the dawn of a new era? An era where humans would no longer be top of the food chain, nor were they the scariest things to roam the earth anymore.

It had taken barely a year before the last of the earth's greatest government's to fall to the new fanged-threat, and even less time for the Vampire's to assume control. This was no spur of the moment coup. No, this was methodical and thought-out. This had been a long time coming.

And, just like that, humans had become little more then cattle. Animals to be used and abused however was deemed fit by their new overlords. Born and bred as a food source, drained of their blood daily like taking milk from a cow. With the luckiest of humans become cherished pets, there to serve as adorable entertainment tot heir new owners.

    How the mighty had fallen...

The training hall was bursting at the seams, the usual equipment swapped out in favour of circular tables with chairs tucked underneath. Squads sat around, chattering amongst themselves as they sipped on the red liquid inside their respective cups. The atmosphere was merry. After all, today was a day to celebrate for the ages, the very last of the human rebel camps finally extinguished.

"Settle, now, settle!" the General called across the hall from where he stood on the stage, banging his gavel and causing a suspenseful hush to settle across the soldier's present. Behind him, atop the stage, sat large cages; covered with red velvet clothes which concealed what they contained. However, with the tantalising scents drifting from under the clothes, none of the vampires in the room were left to debate what laid beneath... humans.

Captain John Price, along with his Task Force - the 141, sat towards the back of the hall. His dark eyes flickering over the other eager guests, grimacing slightly at how they were reacting to the humans in the cages. Greedily inhaling the enticing scent of fresh human blood, straight from the source, practically drooling. While John himself could agree it had been some time since he'd had such a treat as to drink from the source, he was still able to remain composed. Did they have no manners at all?

"As I'm sure you've all heard by now, our endeavours to wipe out the rebels had finally proved fruitful, and I can now happily say that we have eradicated the last sources of the human rebellion!" the General exclaimed, earning a chorus of cheers and applause, hollers and hoots of approval. He waited a moment for the noise to die down once more before continuing. "In acknowledgement of our efforts, we have been sent the cream of the crop who were captured in the final raid. As is tradition, our new livestock shall be auctioned off so make sure to raise your paddles for the pet which catches your eye. Gentlemen, if you would be so kind, lets get this show on the road."

The helpers, which stood behind the cages, lifted up the velvet clothes.

Inside the cages were all manner of humans. Thin and fat, tall and short, pretty and ugly. However, it was the cage closest to the General which caught Price's eye.

You sat, curled up towards the back of your cage, knees clutched to your chest as your wide eyes took in the audience. Your uniform splattered with dry mud and blood, near shredded in places, telling of the horrors you'd faced earlier that day. But, it was your blood that sang to the Captain. So sweet he feared he'd get cavities, fangs aching just at the mere smell of you. Thrumming through your veins like a siren song.

John waited. He was a patient man, after all.

And, when the bidding for you finally began, he lifted his paddle; voice booming across the hall. No one dared oppose the well-respected Captain once he'd made his bid.

"Now, are you going to be a good pet and come out yourself or shall I have to drag you out, dove?" John asked as he squatted before the open door of your cage, having been called up to collect his newly-won pet.
