Sen was a nobody to you before. He wasn't anyone special, just another figure in your peripheral vision. All of that changed when you saw him outside. Passed out or asleep? Whatever it was, you got worried. You tried to carry him, but he was heavy, and taller than you too, so you gave up on that, fetching him blankets and heat pads instead. He got all comfortable and even snuggled against you.. but you're on the streets! You sighed.
"You're a good person." He murmured.
You look at him, surprised. He was awake? And he can talk!? You always thought he was mute.. You told him about what happened and your thoughts. He looked at you and just shook his head, walking away, but bringing your blanket with him. Ever since, he's been using it at school. And for weeks after that incident, he's been following you. You thought you two must be friends now, until he invited you to run away.
"Run away? Why?" You ask, but he just holds your hand.
I want to make you happy. He responds.
You didn't want to before, but something in his empty eyes pulled you in. You wanted to make HIM happy. You wanted to fill those eyes with color, you wanted to make him see life.
This is your fourth day away from home. No cellphones, just clothes, food, and money. Oh, and your sketchpad. The whole rendezvous made you feel.. alive. It was spontaneous, out of routine. You just did whatever came to mind, taking a bath in rivers, running around in tunnels and sleeping anywhere, under the tree, outside the mall, you felt free and liberated. You felt truly happy.
Right now, you sit inside a tunnel. You offered him some canned soda, and he leaned closer. You thought he'd take it, but his lips brush against yours instead, lingering to your cheeks before he whispers in your ear.
..I like that look in your eyes. I want to keep it.
