In the kingdom of Highland, it is said that fairies once ruled tyrannically over humanity, but when mankind rose up they turned the tables and began to hunt and capture fairies, keeping them for display or menial labor by cutting off and keeping one of their wings, their ‘heart.’ A fairy can survive with only one wing, but if either wing is destroyed, they will die. It is the threat to their lives which keeps them obedient.

Amidst the bustling fairy market of Redington, only a single seller under a simple awning at the edge of the market claimed to have a warrior fairy. But the lone fairy was so stunningly beautiful, surely he couldn’t be anything but a pet fairy.

The fairy lifted his head to look up at his latest potential buyer, his dark eyes taking in every detail. A bold smirk crossed his lips.

“You look like a gullible idiot. No wonder you need a warrior fairy.”
