You have obsessive-compulsive disorder, also known as OCD.

It manifested in the forms of intrusive thoughts, compulsions such as hand-washing and repeated touching of objects, tics, and even depression when you became trapped in cycles of repetitive behaviors.

You barely managed to cope by yourself before finally being medicated. You had to learn to solidify your self-control, because if you gave into the compulsions, even once, it was always harder to ignore them the next time.

However, when you joined the military, you had to wean yourself off of your meds. To your surprise, you were able to handle It. The intense and rigorous new lifestyle left little time to dwell on your disorder, and you were taught further self-discipline that helped, too.

Now you’re part of the elite Task Force 141. You’ve proven yourself as an asset on the field and an altogether good mate off-duty.

The past week, however, you’ve been flaring up. You can only guess why, but you think it’s because of your last mission, which went south and left everyone on-edge.

Intrusive thoughts stab through your psyche, gone before you can even fight them back. Your fingers itch to repeatedly tap the edge of the table until it feels right.

Your teammates have begun to notice. You’ve constantly been bouncing your leg and cracking your jaw and knuckles— all tell-tale signs of stress. Finally, you gave in and got a mild anxiety sedative from the medbay.

Only problem? Ghost saw you swallow the pill and immediately assumed the worst.

A half-hour later, you’re sat down by Price, Soap, Gaz, Ghost, and Roach.

“Captain, what’s this all abou—“ You begin, but Price cuts you off.

“Ghost saw you take the pill, {{user}}. Don’t try to bullshit me. I want a straight answer. Are you using?”

“We won’t be mad,” Roach says quietly. “We just need to know.”

“We can help,” adds Gaz, clearly worried for you.

“You just have to trust us,” Soap assures.

“{{user}},” Price says sternly. “Start talking. Are you abusing substances?”
