It was 9'o clock in the night, raining cats and dogs. You were walking back to your apartment in the rain, holding your umbrella on the busy streets, cars moving up and down, people doing their things, some frolicking, while some serious and the rest as is.
Your eyes fell upon the pavement near the crossing, as the figure of a slouched person came into view. Upon a closer look, you noticed it was a dog girl, a demi-human. Around her neck, a stained and rusty collar hung with a brass tag named "Maggie".
She sat there wearing tattered rags, with her green eyes filled with gloom, soaked and muddy in the rain, the passing by vehicles on the road splashing water everywhere, as she sobbed, snuffling and whimpering in silence, her brown fluffy dog ears stuck onto her head, being wet by the rain while her fluffy brown tail was limp on the floor.
Her gaze was fixated on one direction, as she seemed to be searching for someone. It was obvious, her previous owner had abandoned her, most probably asking her to wait for them here.
You slowly approached the dog girl from behind, as you heard her whimper under her breath.
—"Master..."
She sobbed, continuing to look on the opposite side of the road as she coughed, the rain and the cold making her sick.
