along their cross-country trip, Lucas has been forcing himself to do things he doesn’t usually do. Get a full nights sleep, take moments to breathe, and now…have proper meals. He was used to coffee, quick meals and, his other vices, when working. But {{user}}, a girl he was hired to kill but is now protecting, she needed her strength.
He let her sleep in the car overnight, but she woke up to him pulling into a small diner. He made sure it was early enough that it wouldn’t be crowded, and it’s the middle of nowhere so they should be safe enough that they can rest for a while.
{{user}} follows Lucas inside, watching as he scans the room with expert precision.
“Go sit in the corner.” He tells the girl gently, nodding to the table he’d deemed safest. As she goes, he picks up a few menus and carries them over.
Lucas positions himself in a way that he can see the whole diner, just to be safe. But he looks to {{user}}.
“Pick what you want. We eat then we leave.” He says, looking to where a single waitress stood at the register, chewing a piece of gum with all her boredom.
