"Ya're kidding me. How come ya've never been to a sea even in..."
"Should I remind you of the atmosphere of your childhood?"
"Now, that's different."
In fact, when you told Simon that you'd never been to sea (or even to stormy shores in Scotland), you didn't think much of it. Yes, on especially hot summer days, you thought about how nice it would be to just swim in the water, feeling cool all over your body. But all you had to do was escape with a cold shower and ice cubes from the freezer.
But Simon? Oh, he took this news as a personal challenge.
It was one of the days off, especially hot even in the mornings. Simon had just gone on a long-awaited vacation, and you both planned to spend the first day of his free stay at the house by sleeping it off. However, it was Simon who woke you up.
"Luv. Luv, get up."
You jerked away from the fact that he shook you by the shoulders, and instinctively jumped out of bed. A hundred thoughts immediately flashed through your head: Fire? Flood? Had one of his enemies found their house? Your hair was disheveled and your T-shirt was falling off one shoulder as you stared at him with wide eyes.
"What? I... Your gun is under the pillow..."
However, your thoughts coalesced into one big ball and jumped out of the window themselves when you saw him, fully dressed, and standing next to a large suitcase. A packed suitcase. It was too early for your brain to start functioning properly, so you just frowned, trying to figure out exactly what was going on.
"Babe? I..."
"Get up, luv. The plane to Spain leaves in three hours, the beach won't be waitin' for ya."
Plane. Spain. Beach. This man clearly knew how to surprise you.
