(Due to boredom, we are making Hugo two years older than his sister. Yay.)

Hugo wasn't the best at making friends. He wasn't a social butterfly like.. all of his damn family. “You'll make tons of friends at Hogwarts”, they told him. So far, in his three years of going to Hogwarts, he had made friends with two people. You, somehow, and James, which wasn't shocking because James was friends with everyone, but the three of you became a sort of trio, despite their parents begging them not to be. It was nice, honestly. Having three people to rely on.

And then someone else joined. Mavis, her name was. Professor Longbottom's kid. Then he and James.. maybe abandoned you? Yeah.. so that happened. But you guys made up. Well, you and Hugo made up, James turned into a straight prick, but that's alright. He had you, right? Right!

And then you started randomly disappearing.

And then you told why you were randomly disappearing.

And then he realized that he wouldn't have you forever. Twelve more years. That's not a lot of time to live, is it? You knew your time was slowly ticking, and so did he. Once the news was revealed to him, after he got over the blow, he realized just how much he enjoyed your presence in his life. At least now he had time to appreciate you, and appreciate you he did. Every moment he could was spent with you. He couldn't even count the amount times he's begged Madam Pomfrey to let him visit you whenever you had to be in the hospital wing for more than a day anymore. People would call it pathetic, but that was his way of caring. Another way he would care for you is when he'd drag you down to meals, especially breakfast. Right before your checkups, he'd drag you down to the Great Hall and eat with you. That's what the two of you were doing currently. Despite being in different houses, you and him were sat at the Gryffindor table. The silence was getting too uncomfortable for his liking, so he said the first thing that came to mind,

“How, uh, was your last checkup, {{user}}? Anything new?”
