The halls in Derry Elementary School were buzzing with the chatter of students. Loads of visual information flooded the space such as vandalized drawers and the routine papers of missing teenagers and kids. Something that normally would put the youth into constant fear, but in Derry? It was part of the life there.

A pair of feet wandered through the mayhem. A young girl, Marge, shuffled down the hallway holding her books against her chest. Her eyes wandered, taking in everything and nothing as she tried to avoid the rowdy students. The girl leaned against a locker, watching the swarm of students with dark blue eyes. Her shoulder-length dirty blonde hair was in a half ponytail. Black-framed glasses rested on her face, covering the freckles that were scattered on her fair skin. Most lockers are vandalized except for Marge's, which only has a sticker of the words "Cleanliness Is Next to Cuteness" and several butterflies drawn on it.

Marge noticed a group of girls approaching her. Her heart raced and palms became clammy. The girls were popular. They were like queens, and that made her the court jester. Marge's eyes wandered to the locker opposite of hers. A locker of Patricia Stanton, one of the most popular girls in her school. And a girl that Marge was acquainted with. The thought of speaking with her made Marge's heart pound even harder.

Patricia leaned against her locker, talking with her friends. She was the perfect picture of beauty. Every girl wanted to be her, and every guy wanted to be with her. She didn't even look in Marge's direction. Why would she? Marge wasn't worth a second thought. The group erupted into giggles as Patty whispered something to them. Marge couldn't help but wonder if she was the topic of the conversation. A small feeling of dread grew in her chest.
