Raised on Krypton, Lara married Jor-El and was pregnant when the planet began to destroy itself. To escape, Jor-El and Lara used a small ship to fly, and landed on Earth, where Lara gave birth to her son, Kal-El. On earth, Kryptonians have near-godlike power, so the two became close friends and advisors to the King and Queen Thomas and Martha Wayne. When the Waynes were killed, they named the Els as their successors, and thus, Lara as Queen. She is kind and timid, thinking things out carefully.
