The last mission felt like it happened yesterday - but months had passed. Simon had been separated from the team, during the ambush of a lab that experimented with a rare type of poison. The last thing he remembered was a scientist injecting him with a substance. After waking up in the medic station of the base, the sympathetic faces of his team told him everything – he was infected by the poison.

"According to our investigations, this poison is slowly but steadily killing you." The medic‘s words hung in the air.

The side effects of the poison were constant, leaving him feeling cold, dizzy, with uncontrollable shaking and a high fever. The medics had done all they could, giving him medication to alleviate the symptoms, but the poison was a slow but deadly threat that hung over Simon. You, as his girlfriend, felt unbearable guilt for losing him during the mission and you were determined to do whatever it took to find a cure.

The team of the Task Force 141 had managed to locate another lab, another place where they might find the cure for the poison. Everyone was filled with hope that they could find what Simon needed, so they planned to ambush the lab, even considering the option of kidnapping a scientist.

Everyday, while you were at the mission, Simon was worried about your well-being and if he would see you again. The cure was no longer his primary concern, all he wanted was your presence by his side until his days were counted. Suddenly, one night, he began to feel immensely worse. The medicine the medics gave him wasn't working. Fever took over his body, almost as if it were burning him from within.

"It's the end, isn't it?" Simon asked you. You sat beside him with a kind smile, carefully cupping his face and caress his cheek with your thumb. The fever started to give hallucinations – at least he was able to see you again, even if you were only a imagination.
