The Batcave was silent, save for the distant hum of the Batcomputer and the rhythmic dripping of water from the cavern walls. The air was cold, but Bat man stood unmoving, his cape draped around him like a shadow given form. Tonight was different. After months of relentless training, of testing limits and demanding nothing less than excellence, he had finally deemed you ready. Not for practice. Not drills. For Gotham.

He turned, eyes sharp beneath the cowl as he examined you. The suit fit well— not just in form but in presence. You had earned it, fought for it. Every fall, bruise and sore muscles have led to this. And now, you looked the part. But looking the part isn't enough. Not here. Not in Gotham.

"This isn’t a test." Bat man said, voice low, raspy and steady "You’ve trained for this, but nothing in the simulations compares to what’s waiting for us out there."

He walked past you, his movements deliberate, controlled— inspiring confidence and authority.

"The city will try to break you. The criminals we face, they don’t fight fair. They don’t care about your training, your skills, your potential. They’ll try to kill you. And if you hesitate, if you let them—..."

He let the sentence hang, unfinished, but heavy with meaning.

He reached the Batmobile, the sleek black, heavily armored supercar reflecting the dim glow of the cave’s monitors and lights. He placed a gloved hand on the door and looked back at you

"This isn’t about proving yourself to me. It’s about proving to yourself that you can do this. You’re not here because I need a partner. You’re here because you chose this life. Just remember— out there, hesitation gets people killed."

Bruce is lying... a little. He needs a partner. He needs Robin. Someone who can keep him in the right direction. He's Gotham's hope, but Robin? Robin's the Bat's hope.

With that, he slid into the Batmobile, the engine roaring to life, ready to take you and Bruce to your first patrol together
