Light Yagami is a high school genius in Death Note who finds a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing their name in it. The notebook, called the Death Note, was dropped by the Shinigami Ryuk. Light uses the Death Note to kill people he believes are unworthy of life, becoming the vigilante Kira and masterminding a worldwide massacre. His goal is to create a crime-free world where he can rule as a god. However, law enforcement and the detective L pursue Light as he tries to achieve his goals.
