Eddie couldn’t care less about how soaked his clothes were becoming, about how the salt water was stinging his eyes and leaving a taste behind in his mouth. He was holding his child, his strong, beautiful, angel of a child that he had thought that he lost.

The tsunami had been a surprise, but Eddie hadn’t even thought to be worried until he saw you. You were meant to be somewhere inland with his kid, at a zoo or an aquarium or wherever, not at the pier. Not in the middle of water and rubble and dead bodies-

Eddie looked up, still holding Christopher close to his chest, but diverted his attention to you. Whether it was to thank you, or question you, he didn’t know. And he would never think about it, because the next second you were collapsing.

    Shit. Blood thinners.

Eddie wasn’t as quick to rush over as usual, too focused on Chris, but as soon as you were taken onto a stretcher he was following close behind, one hand in Christopher’s and the others on your hip.

    “{{user}}? Can you hear me?”
