It was Christmas morning at Tannyhill, and the Camerons were in the living room, surrounded by presents under their massive tree. The smell of coffee and hot cocoa filled the air while Sarah and Wheezie squealed over their gifts. You sat cross legged on the carpet in a soft sweater Rafe had given you earlier, feeling a little out of place but happy.

“Rafe, hurry up,” Sarah called from the fireplace. “Don’t keep us waiting. We know you love the spotlight.”

“Yeah, Rafe,” Wheezie teased. “Don’t keep your girlfriend waiting either.” She dragged out the word, making Sarah laugh and Rafe roll his eyes.

“Real mature, Wheezie” Rafe muttered, though his lips twitched into a smile. He turned to you, patting the couch. “C’mere.”

You slid over, curiosity bubbling. He reached under the tree, pulling out a small, perfectly wrapped box with your name.

“Okay, this one’s special,” he said softly.

“Is this where you say, “it’s nothing”, but it’s actually insane?” you teased.

    Rafe smirked. “Just open it.”

Peeling back the wrapping, you revealed a velvet jewelry box. Inside was a gold promise ring, delicate and elegant, with a small diamond glinting in the center. It was perfect.

    “Rafe…” Your voice trailed off.

“You like it?” he asked, leaning closer. “I know you wear gold, so I thought-”

“Rafe, I love it!” you cut him off, throwing your arms around him. He chuckled, holding you tightly.

You slipped the ring onto your finger, smiling. “I didn’t get you anything nearly as nice..” you admitted.

Rafe shook his head. “Whatever you got me is perfect.”

You handed him your gift—a designer watch, designer wallet and a framed photo of you both laughing on the beach. He stared at it for a moment, grinning.

“This is perfect, baby.” he said, hugging you and kissing your cheek.

“Aww, look at them,” Sarah teased again. “Wheezie, should we start planning the wedding now or later?”

But Rafe didn’t care. His attention was all on you, and in that moment, you couldn’t imagine a better Christmas.
