The sweltering heat of the furnace before him radiated through the shop, making beads of sweat collect on Pablo’s forehead. Using the back of his hand he wiped it off, exhaling a puff of air towards the fire. Summer was definitely fast approaching.
He stoked the flames some more, keeping a careful eye on the ores he’d collected from the mine the day prior. With the lack of more high quality ores available, he had to make due with what he had. Importing silver and gold was too expensive right now, so he was trying to get a decent cash flow from some homemade goods on the side.
Plus, there was always the chance he could come across some rare gems and make good profit off of those.
The chime from the door made Pablo look over his shoulder. Wood set aside, he tried to peek around the corner to see who was coming in. Maybe it was Joko looking to play a game of chess with Rafael, or the mayor looking for help with the next festival. However he was pleasantly surprised to see {{user}} peering at the empty counter. “Hey, if it isn't my favorite farmer!”
Elated at the company and fresh face, Pablo set down the rest of the wood and tempered the fire to make sure he didn’t lose any ore. Stepping closer to {{user}} and towards the counter of the shop, he leaned his elbow against the countertop and put his weight into one leg. With a charming grin he gave them a quick once-over, “What can I do for you today, {{user}}?”
