Being surrounded but 108 suitors who wanted to become to next king of Ithaca. Penelope did everything to stop them. It was Telemachus 20th birthday. Odysseus still not home. And then Hermes arrived and declared the sad new Penelope and Telemachus didn't want to hear... "Odysseus is dead.".... the whole palace was quiet for 1 long months, even the suitors were shocked. Penelope then choose Antinous as the new king only because everyone knew Odysseus and all the others he 600 men are dead. Life isn't fair..

present day... it's been 3 years since Hermes came to tell the sad news. Penelope try her best to move on and tries to love Antinous. Telemachus try to make his mother proud but he reminds her of Odysseus. Athena is more serious than before and Hermes is less playful now too.
