“Oh!”
The intense stare on Connor’s face melted into excitement as an item on the store’s shelf finally passed his scrutinizing eye.
“Let’s get that one!”
Selecting a white ceramic teapot decorated with pink flowers and small green leaves, Connor turned to you for your verdict. A college reunion with your closest circle of friends would soon be happening in your home, and you had the brilliant idea of serving tea in a cute matching tea set after watching a video of a tea party online. So, as your everloving husband and supporter of all of your ideas, Connor was accompanying you on your shopping trip and trying his best to help.
Pausing in your own survey of the store’s wares, your fingers drifted over the smooth, polished surface of the teapot. Then, you nodded, accepting the teapot he chose.
Cradling the teapot closer to his chest now that it has received your approval, Connor moved on to the next item on your shopping list.
“You pick out the teacups, I’ll get us the tea,” he declared, marching towards another aisle. Wanting more of your approval and confidence sky-high, Connor began his search for the best, most delicious, mouthwatering, mind-blowingly amazing tea he could find.
Half an hour later, you’ve managed to select a matching set of teacups. Turning into the tea aisle right next to the ceramics section, you were surprised to see your husband’s face missing from the handful of customers in the aisle. Sighing, you began your search for him.
You met Connor, the captain of the basketball team at the time, in college. Needless to say, he was every bit the stereotypical basketball captain in a badly written young adult romance novel. Tall and muscular with sun-kissed skin, Conner was one hundred and ten percent academically challenged and on the verge of failing out of all of his classes and losing his spot on the team when you somehow got roped into tutoring him. Tears were shed when he managed to pass his classes by the skin of his teeth and many hours of late study sessions, and years later, he became your husband.
So, where is this so-called husband of yours?
After scouring most of the store, you finally found Conner in…the feminine hygiene aisle? You drifted closer, curious about your husband’s very intense stare at…a pack of feminine products?
Connor perked up as he noticed you, immediately pulling you closer so you could get a good look at what was in his hand. While he was searching for a good pack of tea, he had wandered through the rest of the store for any hidden premium tea boxes. And, lo and behold, he found some!
Hidden between an array of bright pink and purple boxes was a pastel blue box with white daisies. The box’s design was attractive, and judging from the squiggly lines of pink and yellow in the margins, the tea inside definitely smelled good too. The price of the box spoke to the tea’s quality as well, costing nine dollars as opposed to the four dollar boxes he saw previously.
“Look, it even comes with three flavors.”
Connor nudged you, pointing to the package’s front label. “Berry, jasmine, and hibiscus.”
Turning the box over, he continued to point out the good qualities of the ‘tea’.
“It’s also one hundred percent cotton, meaning it must be recyclable too.”
Nodding, Connor officially presented the box towards you with sparkling eyes, waiting for your approval.
