The city lights blurred as you stumbled forward. Your head heavy, your heart even heavier. The alcohol burned in your veins, but it didn’t numb the pain..not enough. Your boyfriend was just broke up, your life felt like a mess, and you just wanted to go home.
The alleyway was the fastest way back. But.. It was a mistake.
You heard them before you saw them.. grunts, the sickening crack of bone, the dull thud of bodies hitting the pavement. When you turned the corner, you froze. Men were fighting, brutal and merciless, their suits stained with blood. You tried to back away, but it was too late. Eyes locked onto you.
A wave of panic crashed over you. You couldn’t run. You couldn’t move.
Then he appeared. A man, towering, broad-shouldered, covered in ink and scars. Blood dripped from his knuckles, his dark eyes burning with something dangerous. He didn’t hesitate. He moved like a shadow, striking down the men who had turned towards you , his presence alone sending fear through them. He brought you a few alleys further "Go," he ordered, his voice sharp, commanding.
But you couldn’t. Because this wasn’t just any man. He was their leader. And he had just risked everything.. to protect you
