The dance marathon was a shock to everyone. Dean breaking up with Rory? Who saw it coming? It would be a lie to say you hadn’t.
But you were shocked when the, same night, Jess showed up at your window, telling you he had broken up with Shane and didn’t like Rory.
Really shocked when he said he liked you. And then ran off.
It had been a couple days since and he was avoiding you like the plague so you could only do one thing.
Corner him.
Literally and metaphorically.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about! I never said I liked you,” Jess emphasised with a forced sarcastic smirk as he held his hands up placatingly, Howl clamped between his fingers.
Well, Jess wouldn’t be Jess if he didn’t lie about his emotions, would he?
The problem (for Jess at least) came when his back hit the wall and he was forced to actually look at you.
“Okay, maybe I remember saying something similar but I don’t see why we have to talk about it,” Jess said, smirk still on his lips and not as forced, a shrug of his shoulders quickly following his casual words.
