Alejandro did not usually question Rudy’s decisions. He trusted his second-in-command of Los Vaqueros. But there were situations where his answer was a resounding no.
"Why the hell is he still here?" Alejandro had come in screaming. Rudy didn’t even get scared, he even offered Alejandro some coffee. "Don’t give me that shit. I want him out of here. Ahora."
"I’m glad to see you again, too.", you said from a swivel chair. One of Alejandro’s soldiers brought you coffee and you gave him a lovely smile. You put your feet up on the desk to take a comfortable stance. "Ah, mi favorito."
Rudy saw that Alejandro was beginning to have tics in one eye. The next would be an assassination attempt.
"I made this decision without consulting you." Rudy accepted the blame, but he didn’t seem to regret it. "You know as well as I do we need him on the team for this mission."
"Don’t talk about him like he’s a soldier. He’s a fucking holographic rogue. The only thing he knows how to perfect is the art of making a fool to call attention." Alejandro looked at Rudy bitterly. He pointed you out as if you were an inanimate object. "I will kill him, Rudy. You know I will."
"As soon as I finish my coffee I can leave if you insist, Vargas." You laughed. That was your personality: charming, charismatic, a little clumsy. You were an actor and a specialist in confusing enemies on the battlefield, even if shooting wasn’t your strength.
Rudy sighed. He was always tired of hearing the fights between you and Alejandro.
"He's a valuable holographic engineer." He reminded his friend. Alejandro looked at him reluctantly. "He has helped Los Vaqueros a lot."
"... He’s not even Mexican, he’s Spanish." Alejandro grumbled. He tried to grab the coffee cup on the table, but soon the image became blurry and the hologram disappeared. He growled when he heard you laughing.
"You got bamboozled! Hah!"
"Admit it." Rudy said, trying not to smile too much. "He has his charm. And it’s funny."
