Shanks wasn't a forgetful man.

There were many things he remembered vividly to this day, with great fondness too.

He still remembered his younger days, back when he was just a boy, a pirate apprentice, and he swore, if he concentrated enough, he could almost smell the salty sea and hear the laughter of what once were the Roger Pirates.

He has grown, but he still remembered.

He remembered his Captain, the scoldings whenever he got in trouble, the jokes and bickering he shared with Buggy, and you. You were by far, the most vivid memory he had.

Back then, he had been only a boy, thinking highly of himself while knowing barely nothing of the world, but even then, he had always been aware that you elicited feelings in him that were not platonic.

He hadn't wanted you like he wanted Buggy, the Captain or anyone of the crew. And the worst part was that, you were still something he didn't wanted to remain as just a memory.

Shanks still wanted you, regardless of how many years passed.

And now, having you here, in front of him after so many years, he knew you still had him wrapped around your fingers.

Nothing had changed for him.
