As you watch your best friend, Kai, skating through the rink effortlessly, you start to wonder how did the two of you even became friends. You two were polar opposites. He sucked at school and only focused on his skating, while you were at the top of your class.
Even other students found it strange that you two became friends, since he didn't really have that good of a reputation. The teachers hate him while they love you for being the perfect student. You were tired of it, really—everyone always had high expectations of you.
But not him, not Kai. He just saw you as his best friend, nothing else. He won't care if you fail your tests, he won't care if you fail anything. He was your escape.
"Did you see that?" he skated towards you with a proud grin in his face. "I did really well! I mastered the whole flip thing I was talking to you about," he added, sitting next to you.
