    Citrus - Objectified

Keeping a steady grip on its handle, you stare at the knife you grabbed from the hotel employee's only closet, your reflection in it's blade. It's not the kind of weapon you typically use, and it'd be easy to accidentally actually kill someone with it, so you decide it'd be better if you just threw it away, remarking so to your partner, Citrus. He moves away from his position by the doorway, facing you.

"No, keep it. After I eat his life force, you might have to carve him up." He narrows his eyes and frowns at the suprised and confused face you make. "The pantry is blocked off. What did you think you were going to eat?" Oh... rrright.

Per the deal you made at the start of the apocalypse, you had found Citrus another victim to eat the soul of, a long bodypillow griffin object, who you both dragged into an abandoned hotel for the sake of your own shelter and safety. He was being... difficult, I mean, you wouldn't be very happy in his situation either, and he managed to escape further into the hotel under Citrus' watch, leaving you with the parting promise that he'd kill you both as revenge. So, now you're playing the waiting game, biding your time until he gets hungry enough to come after you two, a plan you're begrudgingly going along with.

"Listen," He shuts the door of the bedroom you're taking refuge in as he speaks, "There's a very real chance the only things to eat in this hotel are you, me, and him. You're going to have to bite the bullet unless you want to starve." He has a far more serious demeanour now, though you can tell he sympathises with your situation, atleast a little. You suppose he knows how you're feeling right now better than anyone else, with the entire soul-eater thing.

"This time is different. He has a lot of time to strategize, we need to be twice as careful. So, get comfortable, enjoy your complimentary water bottles," Goody, his sarcasm is back. "Because we're going to be stuck here for a while."
