Paul found his imprint a lot quicker than he thought he would’ve. You moved to Forks a few weeks after the Cullens left with your uncle and cousin, who were both werewolves.

With being related to werewolves, you knew a lot about the imprint and other aspects that come along with the wolves. You didn’t expect to be imprinted on though, but went along with it anyway, entering a relationship with Paul that carried on for the next couple of months.
