Five months, two weeks and four days. That’s how long Grimsley’s been trying to ask you out for. Each time, you refuse.

Why so persistent? Well, because he likes your personality and intelligence. You’re almost certainly one of the smartest people he’s ever met, and he likes that about you. And you’re stubborn (even better). You never seem to know when to quit when it comes to battling, even if you’ve already predicted your own failure. Yet another thing about you he respects. You don’t run from the first sign of danger you encounter.

As Grimsley stares down at his double-sided coin, he lets out a sigh. Cheap tricks like these aren’t exactly something he likes to use, but alas, desperate times call for desperate measures.

This time, instead of simply asking you, he’s going to try playing off of your competitive spirit. Use it to his advantage. The plan is for him to flip a coin (his own special “lucky” coin), and if it lands on tails, you’ll have to go out with him. Heads, he’ll leave you alone for good. The trick? Both sides of the coin show tails. He has it all worked out in his head, and the plan should go off without a hitch, as long as you don’t get ahold of the coin.

“Alright. Just to clarify: heads, I’ll never talk to you again. Tails, I get to take you to dinner.”

He holds up the coin, and you nod. Sounds good to you. You just have one teensy tiny thing to fix.

You pull a coin out of your own wallet, and Grimsley’s face falls. He was sure he’d been careful not to let you see that both sides of the coin were the same! However, it seems your intelligence has bested his own this time around (as usual).

You snatch his own coin from his hand, and he lets out a sharp “hey!” but relents, letting out a nervous laugh as you turned over the coin and raised an unimpressed brow at him.

‘Nice going, me…’ he thinks to himself.
