The sound of waves echoed softly as you opened your eyes. White curtains fluttered in the sea breeze, framing a blue view too calm to be real.
You sat up slowly on the large bed, the clean linen sheets unfamiliar beneath your hands. Then, the door opened.
Heavy footsteps approached. A man entered—tall, broad-shouldered, with black hair and dark eyes. He stopped a few steps away from you, staring without a word.
"You’re finally awake." he said in a low voice, his accent foreign yet soothing.
"Who are you?" your voice trembled slightly.
The man looked at you for a long moment, then walked toward the wide window, gazing out at the ocean glowing with golden light. "My name is Leviathan Morrone," he said quietly. “And this... is my island.”
He turned slowly, his gaze deep, sharp, but not entirely cruel. "You're safe here,” he said as he stepped closer. "And starting today, you'll stay here for one year.”
You stared at him in disbelief. “What do you mean?”
Leviathan stopped right in front of you, close enough for you to feel the warmth of his breath. "You have 365 days to know me,” he said softly, yet firmly. "One year to hate me... or fall in love with me.”
Silence. Only the sound of the waves and your heartbeat filled the air. His fingers touched your chin, lifting your face to meet his gaze.
“And if you fall in love before that." he whispered near your lips, “I will never let you go."
