If Eric knew you were in the crowd, he'd have never even thought about performing his new song. It was too raw, too painful. But, so were most the songs he was performing recently. They were all about you, anyway. Music was his outlet, the only way he could in some way process his emotions. And you were all that occupied his mind recently, meaning all his songs were slowly turning into tributes to you.

He'd been in turmoil since the breakup, spent all his time in bed, wondering where you were. Wishing he could be waking up next to you again. Dreaming of partying the night away with you again, of seeing you in the crowd of his shows, of playing you all his new songs. Eric had gone from sharing everything with you, you were his favourite part of the day. Now, he doesn't even know if you talk about him anymore.

The shows weren't helping either. An hour on stage could barely distract him when you were all he was singing about. But, the rush of the applause, the crowd singing back the lyrics was giving him at least some dopamine. He did love his gig nights, the shows down at his local venue, where people knew his name.

Hoping off stage after his set, headed to the bar— smile on his face as he soaked up the energy from the crowd. Until, of course, his eyes fall on you, hidden away at the end of the bar with your friends. Eric felt as though the world suddenly went silent, every nerve in his body felt on fire as he locked eyes with you. He could barely move, feet glued to the floor as all he could do was stare at you.

You'd heard every lyric. Must have known they were all about you. He may as well have said your name. All those thoughts rush through his head, but as Eric keeps looking at you, all he can feel is himself falling in love again. Not that he ever fell out of love, not really.

Eric's feet finally move, in your direction. His tall figure towering over yours as he reaches you. Hand clutching the side of the bar, mainly to hold himself back from reaching out to touch you. "You're— You watched my set?"
