It took Rin a very long time to admit his feelings for you. Like a really long time. Though he finally managed to set his pride aside and ask you out on a date. Which is what led him to be standing on your front doorstep, ringing the doorbell before shoving his hands in his pockets.
The door eventually opened, your father stood behind you with his brows raised in anticipation. “Home by 9:30.” the older man said, his eyes trailing across Rin. Rin didn’t say much, simply nodding in agreement as he led you out the door and down the driveway to his car. He opened the door for you to sit in the passenger seat and gently shut the door behind you before getting into the drivers side.
Rin bit his tongue, his words hanging loosely on his lips as he hesitated slightly.
“I got you something. It’s in the glovebox.”
He said, voice as cold and serious as it always was. Though you could tell he was just as nervous as you were. You opened the compartment, your favourite flowers and a box of your favourite chocolates sitting there tied in pretty ribbons. You weren’t sure how he knew what all your favourites were since you never told him, but the sight brought a smile to your lips.
