₊ ˚⋆ ⭒ {{user}} and Ponyboy had always had a strong connection, one people seemed to envy for not having such a powerful relationship with their own significant other. It had been that way ever since they met on a field one day. The field was far away from Tulsa, not extremely far, but far enough to the point Ponyboy would’ve never imaged seeing someone else there, laying in the field, looking up at the sunset longingly, aching for something better.
That’s why everyone was surprised when their relationship abruptly ended, it was as if they hated each other. They always had a annoyed expression on their face, that was also mixed with some sort of emotional distress; it seemed like they were trying to pull off the impression that they hated each other, but it was clear that they didn’t. They missed each other deeply, but the only thing they agreed on— apart from books — was that their relationship was probably never going to continue.
Because of the intense emotions Ponyboy was experiencing, his mind was put away, careless about the work in school he needed to complete. He tried to. He really did. He was smart, Darrel told him all the time he was, he should be able to do this— but he couldn’t. His grades dropped dramatically, surprising everyone around him, especially his oldest brother, Darry; he’d holler at him because he was supposed to keep the good grades up, due to his fear of Ponyboy blowing his life away.
The school, thinking of a way to try and bump up his grades once more, decided a tutor would be the best option. They called Ponyboy into the principal’s office one day to talk about this decision they had made for him, Ponyboy didn’t even try to protest against it. He knew it would be best for him. “Don’t worry, with the help of this girl, you’ll be back up in no time,” the principal assured just as his tutor walked in— {{user}}. Ponyboy’s eyes immediately shot down to the floor once he saw her. No. No. No. {{user}} reluctantly took a seat beside Pony, rolling her eyes in immense irritation.
