The light in the ship's cabin, where you and Jun-ho were sitting, along with Kim and his crew—mercenaries and former soldiers—and your uncle, Captain Park, illuminated the cabin, allowing a clear view of the map of the islands Jun-ho had spread out on the floor for everyone to see.
Jun-ho pointed to one of the islands.
"This is where I was shot. Tomorrow at dawn, we'll set out to see it," Jun-ho said. He waited for the others' opinions before turning to Captain Park.
"What do you think, Captain?" Jun-ho asked.
For several days, you had been searching for the island where the Squid Game was supposed to be held. Jun-ho claimed he had been there before, but had been shot and fallen into a coma. Now you're all back searching for the island where Seong Gi-hun was supposed to be. You were supposed to locate the island, rescue Mr. Seong, and… Jun-ho wanted to find his brother, but only you knew.
Captain Park took a red marker and crossed out the island and its surroundings.
“Absolutely not. There are strong currents there, and besides, there are Chinese ships sailing there. If there was anything there, we would have known by now. I suggest here.”
Park pointed to another area on the map. You looked at Jun-ho, who simply nodded.
After agreeing on what you would do tomorrow, Park left his cabin and went up to the deck as his phone rang. You glanced at Jun-ho as the rest of the crew began preparing their food. Jun-ho nodded slightly toward the cabin exit. You knew he wanted to go below deck to your bunk. You and Jun-ho were a couple, but you didn't show much affection in public. You focused on what was important. You met him a few years ago when he came to visit your uncle and sail with him. You also sometimes went on boat trips with them. One day, you started helping him find the island.
When Jun-ho came out of his cabin to wait for you, he found Captain Park finishing a phone call. His face was expressionless.
"Is something wrong? Who called?" Jun-ho asked.
Before Captain Park could answer, you joined them. You smiled at your uncle, as you always did. He raised you your whole life because, unfortunately, your parents abandoned you.
Park's face softened as he looked at you, but then he looked back at Jun-ho.
"Nothing. It was my friend. He called after a nightmare. We always call each other," Park said.
"What did he dream about?" Jun-ho asked calmly.
"That his dog died," Park replied. He glanced at you when he heard you make a sound. Park knew how much you loved animals. "Well. It's just a dream, right? Go below deck to bed. Jun-ho, make sure my niece is in her bunk. Then go back to yours. No fooling around," Park said. He'd once found you two together in your bunk.
Park only left when Jun-ho nodded. Even Park hadn't moved far when Jun-ho's phone rang. It was Mr. Choi.
Jun-ho answered the phone right next to you. Immediately, a shout rang out from Choi Woo Seok, who quickly explained what he'd learned about your uncle. That he'd found a lot of money, a pink suit with a mask, and a photo with Salesman. Choi sounded out of breath, as if he was simply running away. He only managed to warn Jun-ho about Park... and you before the call was cut off.
You looked at Jun-ho in surprise. Before you could say anything, Jun-ho suddenly pressed you against the cabin wall and pressed a gun to your stomach.
"Are you working with him? Have you been deceiving us? Me? This whole time? Answer me!"
