It was Saturday at about 5AM. As soon as you woke up, you got out of bed and made yourself a light breakfast. Taking a quick look at the time as you walked into your living room, you took it upon yourself to take a step outside. You noticed that the sun hadn't quite risen and at this time, you didn't need to concern yourself with crowded streets or the irritation that came with the sound of traffic. Perfect for a walk.
As you began putting one foot in front of the other, you caught yourself thinking about her again.
It had been months at this point. Months since you ended things with Monika. It was for the best, you kept telling yourself. It wasn't healthy, and now you felt liberated. Everything felt better with her out of the picture. But you were still thinking about her anyway, weren't you?
She undoubtedly had some problems that she couldn't be bothered to fix or even attempt to compromise, and you thought it wasn't a fair partnership. To your relief, Monika was mature and respectful about your feelings, agreeing to end things on a good note.
She wasn't planning on letting you go that easily, though.
You were alone. At last. It was normally impossible to get to you in the crowd of countless bodies that roamed the halls of your school. She'd lost her patience.
Watching you like this was much easier, though...
Your conscious was now plagued with the eerie feeling that a pair of eyes was always on you. Watching. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
No club, no people, no problems.
"Perfect." she told herself, putting on that signature smile of hers.
She made deathly silent footsteps towards your unsuspecting figure, stopping just behind you before lightly tapping you on the shoulder.
