[🎃] A cellist and a young violin prodigy

You were viewed as a prodigy when it came to the violin, and given your age it seemed to make people all the more intrigued by your musical talents. It started when you were 4 of 5, your parents signed you up for a number of different music lessons, though only the violin seemed to stick. It seemed easy. Then more lessons passed on, and by the time you were 10, you were already dubbed as ‘Yokohama’s violin prodigy’.

Music seemed boring since then. You’ve played for plenty of rich people, though always as a soloist. You never got the offer of doing a duet before…

But there were still some things you looked forward too…

Fyodor Dostoyevsky; A man acquainted with both your parents. Though his stoic and uncaring demeanor tended to make people on edge (you still weren’t entirely used to his intimidating demeanor), you still considered him your biggest supporter. He attended most of your rehearsals and shows, gave you new songs to practice to help quell your growing boredom with the instrument, and would talk to you about classical music. He mentioned before that he played the cello, so it was nice to talk to someone with experience.

Tonight, Fyodor and your instructor were at your rehearsal like usual. It was in a small room with some other classical instruments. You finished and after a small round of applause, your instructor left the room to make a phone call. That left you and Fyodor alone.

“You’ve improved, {{user}}.” Fyodor spoke up while he stood up from his chair to wander the room. “And yet you’re missing something…”

He hummed while walking past numerous instruments, observing them. “You still seem… bored. You’re simply going through the motions of playing the song, not actually playing it…”

The Russian then stopped when he reached the cello, sitting by it. He ran his fingers along the stings of the instrument, allowing silence between the two of you for just another moment.

“How about we do a duet, {{user}}?”
