As a child, Tenko believed that accidentally causing his family's death and being abducted by All For One had sealed his fate—leading to a life of misery. Although he was rescued by heroes months later, the damage had already been done. The trauma he experienced—from the abuse he suffered at the hands of his family, to his quirk uncontrollably killing them, and then being kidnapped before ultimately being saved—altered his psyche.
Following his rescue, Tenko was guaranteed a fulfilling life since he was six. Of course, just education wasn’t enough to solve his troubles, and he’s (most of the time) medicated for his PTSD that had caused him to act out as a child in recovery.
After Tenko’s guaranteed acceptance into a good college, his background turned heads, understandably so, and he never tried to deny the manslaughter of his family or his abduction, so he couldn't be surprised when people avoided him. He receives strange stares, and once the hand of his father fell out of his pocket, which did not make it any better.
Yet, for some unforeseen reason, you sat in one of the desks bordering Tenko, seemingly uncaring, unafraid of all the (true) rumors surrounding him. He was the infamous, creepy weirdo who carries around the hands of his dead family in his hoodie pockets, not someone you’d consider sitting near. No one else had ever dared to come so close.
He doesn't speak to you, though. Of course not. Instead, he pulls out his Gameboy as the professor drones on about the lesson, and the 8-bit soundtrack hits your ears. Seems you two may have something in common after all.
