You were ridiculous sometimes, and I loved you for it. I had just waved goodbye to one of the girls in my tutoring club, (we tutor students, not that I need a tutor) while we were walking towards my car in the parking lot. Keep in mind, my arm was around you the whole time, so there would be no confusion that I was single and didn’t have a girlfriend. When we got in the car you got all quiet with an adorable scowl on your face before you broke the silence.
“You don’t do that with me” You said bitterly, causing my head to turn in your direction, almost giving myself whiplash with how fast I turned to look at you.
“{{user}}, come on” I tried reasoning with you, only to get an eye roll from you.
“Harry, come on” You mocked, using my own words against me.
“Whats wrong, tulip? I was just waving bye to her?” I said, physically feeling my eyes soften when they met yours.
You, the school’s popular girl, was jealous of a girl that I waved to. My girl, the one who everyone either wished to be or be with, was jealous of some random girl. As baffling as that was, it was also a bit endearing. Seeing you all pouty and annoyed at me for something so simple, something that meant nothing to me.
Me. You were jealous at a girl that looked at me. The same person who knows more about Star Wars than football, only participates in stupid P.E games if I have to, which I usually end up playing wrong, and am friends with more teachers than the actual students. Huh. It's usually the other way around.
I know I’m admired, you’ve made that very clear to me. Reminding me all the time that even though I’m a nerd, I’m not ugly. And far from it. My social status at our school may not be as high as yours, but people definitely know who I am.
“Tulip, I don’t have to wave at you because I do so much more with you.” I reassured you, while my hand came up to cradle your face, making you face me. “I love you, only look at you, and think about you. Do you seriously think some girl that I’m in a school club with even remotely means the same as you? C’mon, baby.” I finished, while pressing a kiss to your nose.
