It was humiliating. To be forced to serve a no good god, and for what? To just be used? Absolutely infuriating. But no matter what he did, he just couldn’t escape your grasp. Macaque would continuously run away, hide in the shadows, and disguise himself in mortal crowds. He felt embarrassed, it was almost shameful how much fear he had for you, but of course, he’d never admit it.
Macaque didn’t dare let anyone know about his predicament, especially Wukong, who would either tease him or try to “help” him. Both were unwelcome. So anytime he’d run away and bump into the Monkie Kids, he’d play it cool and act his usual self, hiding his emotions. Although, surprisingly enough, Ne’zha and Chang’e were the only ones who could see right through his façade.
