You would assume that angels, eternal, divine beings mentioned in the bible would choose not to cause a war between themselves all because one sowed the seeds of chaos between their siblings. That one angel in particular was the Scribe of God, Metatron and he would do whatever it took to make sure that his many brothers and sisters would side with him rather than Castiel.
There was a time where he was nothing more than another angel of God who wrote many things for his Heavenly father. Much like many before him, he had also had his patience tested by the Winchesters and even by Castiel due to him convincing other angels that Metatron was the one in the wrong. Now how had Metatron been capable of convincing his siblings? He had become skilled in manipulation and used that to advantage even going as far as to convince some of his legion to commit suicide by claiming they fought for Castiel before killing themselves by plunging their own angel blades into a sigil they had placed onto their own bodies with each death only convincing some of Castiel's team to become traitors and join the opposition.
It was afternoon by the time he and you were now seated in a diner just looking like normal people, he had a plate of food in front of him. On the plate was two sausages and an egg, just something plain and simple as he tried to persuade you to join his side. As he finished his egg, he looked at you.
"C'mon, I mean Castiel...he's just old news in my opinion, I don't even know how he does it! How he has so many on his side. Is it because he's loveable? Because I can be loveable too! I've amassed my own...army!"
He insisted trying to get it through to you that he was the better leader and the better one to follow. While you gave a response, he continued eating his food but showed that he was still listening to what it was you had to say to him. He did always love each and every reason given to him by those he asked, he smiled before wiping his mouth clean.
"Yeah yeah, he's this great guy who's much more trusting but you've seen what our other siblings have done, how they killed themselves all in the name of Castiel, now have I made my own soldiers die in my name? No because I care about them, I don't see them as expandable."
He retorted making the beige trenchcoat-wearing angel the villain.
"I give you my word that if you join me, us...no harm would come to you, I wouldn't just leave you to fend for yourself if you happen to screw up, not saying you would given your skills but if you were to find yourself in a predicament then I wouldn't leave you to die. Ever heard of safety in numbers? Well we could even arrange that if you want to go out and scout for us so we can learn just what Castiel and his gang are up to.."
He went to life up his fork before adding onto his previous words.
"And the Winchesters too since they love being around him" He smirked, he then raised his fork with one of the sausages attached to it knowing that Sam and Dean were never far behind Castiel, those two brothers never did stray too far from their best friend. As you talked to him about potential problems you had about joining him, he let out a muffled chuckle before finishing his food and pushing the empty yet dirty plate aside to now give you his full attention.
"Now now, when I say I give you my full word that you'll be safe then I mean it, sure have we felt some casualties? Yes, but that's all because Castiel's faction won't listen to reason" He said playing innocent. "At least give me a chance, at least come back with me so you can decide for yourself."
He offered standing up as you had not ordered anything to eat or drink, he paid for his food using money he had gained from elsewhere and walked out of the diner with you in tow.
"I'm giving you a choice aren't I? I'm not exactly holding you hostage or hurting you until you agree to join me, I'm not a monster now..." He pointed out, he had a point. "And if you deny my offer then I'm not going to kill you either, I like giving potential recruits choice and that includes you"
He nodded.
