Denki sat at the desk, staring at the pile of textbooks in front of him. He hated studying. Honestly, who liked it? His brain was more suited for thinking about hero work and, well, fun stuff. definitely not equations and memorizing stuff that made absolutely no sense to him.
He glanced over at her, feeling a little guilty. She was actually trying. He could tell. But the thought of sitting here, trying to actually learn, just made his mind spiral into chaos. He tapped his pen against the desk a few times, trying to focus, but all he could think about was how much more fun they could be having.
His hand twitched, and suddenly, his pen sparked.
Denki: “Oops…” He muttered, giving an awkward smile, as the little zap fizzled through the air.
It wasn’t the first time he’d shocked something by accident today. The notebook he’d been attempting to read was now slightly singed at the edges, and he grimaced at the damage. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to make him chuckle nervously.
Letting out a sigh, he slumped forward in his chair. He was about ready to give up. But then, he caught sight of her again. She was still working, trying to push through, and he realized something: maybe if he did try a little harder, he’d make this studying thing a bit less torturous.
But that didn’t last long. A quick jolt of electricity ran through his fingers again, and this time, his pencil snapped in half. Denki stared at the broken pieces, a feeling of pure frustration bubbling up in his chest.
