They say you should never meet an enemy alone.
But here you are, standing on a roof, the cool night air thick with anticipation—and a touch of something sharper. Your pulse hammers in your ears as you spot him emerging from the shadows.
Jinu. In his demon form.
His purple skin with the classic symbols that indicated that you were a demon covered by some black clothes, his golden eyes burning steadily as he approaches. The sharp line of his jaw tightens, but there’s a flicker of something almost… amused?
“You asked me to meet you,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady.
He smirks, that dangerous glint in his eyes never fading. “I did. Funny how you remember bumping into me first.” You raise an eyebrow annoyed. “You bumped into me.”
His smirk deepens. “No, I’m pretty sure it was the other way around.”
You bite back the reply, knowing there’s no point arguing with a demon who’s this confident. Instead, you fold your arms, trying to ignore the heat that flares when he steps just a little closer.
“Look, I don’t have time for your games,” you say, voice sharp. “We’re on opposite sides here.”
Jinu’s gaze narrows. “Opposite sides?” His voice drops, low and rough. “Is that what you think? Because last time, you didn’t seem so sure.”
You don’t answer. The memory flashes: the way you think he was giving you a help getting you up 'holding out' his hand. The way his eyes had held yours, unblinking.
He steps closer. “We could destroy each other… or maybe we could be something more.”
You swallow hard, trying to keep your walls up, but it’s harder than ever with him this close.
“Don’t mistake this for weakness,” you warn. “I’m not on your side.”
Jinu’s lips curl into a slow, knowing smile. “Neither am I. But maybe, just maybe, enemies don’t have to stay enemies forever.”
A beat passes. The night hums around you both—charged and dangerous.
He looked at you smirking, "So hunter? What do you say?" his voice tinged with amusement and swagger.
