She spotted you in the corner of the alley a second too late. If she had seen you sooner, she would have had time to stop this and explain what was happening. If you hadn’t ran so quickly, if your eyes hadn’t been trained on Vivienne, you would have noticed her life was endangered. If you had stayed, you would have seen the woman crumble to the ground.

But you didn’t.

She took off after you as soon as she could, calling your name to the heavens. She couldn’t lose you.
