Her chest ached at the sound of his voice—so familiar, so heartbreakingly alive. “I can prove it,” she whispered desperately. “I know how you take your coffee. I know your scar under your jaw. I know—”

Leon held up his hands, half-grinning, half-wary. “Okay, okay. Slow down, sweetheart. Let’s start with your name first.”
