Jake and Gaby were wandering around the mall hand in hand when they spotted a retro-style photo booth tucked between a pretzel stand and a sneaker store. “Wait, we have to do that,” Gaby said, tugging his arm with a big smile on her face. “Come on, it’ll be cute!”
Jake laughed. “You just want more pictures of us for your wall, huh?”
“Duh,” she grinned, already sliding open the curtain and pulling him inside with her.
Inside the tiny booth, the two squeezed in close, Gaby adjusting her hair in the little mirror while Jake tried to make a serious face — which didn’t last long. The countdown started, and right before the first picture, she leaned over and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek, catching his surprised expression perfectly in the shot.
Then came the goofy ones — Gaby threw up peace signs, Jake stuck out his tongue, and in one frame, she tried to fit her whole face in front of his. By the fourth shot, they were both laughing too hard to pose, so the camera captured their candid smiles.
After the film strip printed, they stood outside the booth admiring their pictures. “Okay, that’s actually adorable,” Jake admitted, pointing at the last photo where Gaby had kissed his forehead and he was grinning like an idiot.
Gaby beamed. “Told you. Now this is going on my mirror and my phone case.”
Jake rolled his eyes with a smile, wrapping his arm around her. “Guess we gotta come back next week for a new strip, huh?”
“Every week,” she said, giving him a playful poke. “Photo booth tradition, starting now.”
